Dr Vyjayanti completed her undergraduate medical training in Mangalore University, India. She served as a medical officer with various departments at the Penang General Hospital and Hospital Bukit Mertajam, before undergoing her paediatric postgraduate training at the Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia, Kelantan.
She has vast experience in neonatal and paediatric intensive care management. She even went on to further specialised in the field of Paediatric Infectious Disease by undergoing a 3-year training programme using the latest cutting-edge technology in microbiology in USA.
In 2006, Dr Vyjayanti was awarded the "Sijil Perkhidmatan Cemerlang" by the Ministry of Health Malaysia for her excellent service. She has also written and co-authored numerous posters and journals which were presented both at the national and international levels.
Dr Vyjayanti is fluent in Malay, English and Tamil, and is able to converse in the Hokkien dialect.
