Dr Tuan Jiun Haur graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2002. He received his membership with the Royal College of Physicians in United Kingdom in 2005. He subsequently went on to specialise in cardiology and electrophysiology, during which he obtained his postgraduate research degree in cardiac electrophysiology from the University of Leicester and gained full specialist registration as a certified cardiologist in the United Kingdom.
In 2009, Dr Tuan was awarded the prestigious Young Investigator Research Prize at the Annual Heart Rhythm Congress in United Kingdom for his work on Ablation of Atrial Fibrillation.
Dr Tuan has extensive experience in cardiology and electrophysiology. He had previously worked at various well-established regional cardiac and electrophysiology referral centres in the United Kingdom. Upon returning to Penang, he served as a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at the Lam Wah Ee Hospital, Penang.
Dr Tuan specialises in treating patients with palpitations and heart rhythm problems. He is experienced in a wide range of cardiac procedures which include electrophysiology study and ablation, pacemaker and defibrillator implantation, cardiac resynchronisation therapy, transthoracic echo, coronary intervention/ angioplasty, and cardiac catheterization.
In order to keep abreast with the latest developments in the fields of cardiology and electrophysiology, Dr Tuan actively attends courses and workshops to better equip himself to care for his patients' needs. In addition to having given presentations at both the international and national levels, Dr Tuan has also authored numerous publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
