Prior to joining Penang Adventist Hospital, Dr Selma practised at various well- established healthcare institutions both locally and abroad for more than 10 years. Dr Selma received her MD from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada in 1999. She then went on to obtain her membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist, UK in 2006.
She has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery (key-hole surgery) and was trained by renowned laparoscopic surgeons while doing her fellowship in Singapore. Besides her passion in laparoscopic surgery, Dr Selma also enjoys guiding her patients through their pregnancies and shares in the joyful moments of welcoming the birth of their babies.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr Selma is also a senior lecturer at the Penang Medical College (PMC).
