Prof Dr Mary is our Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist and Paediatrician. After her basic education in India, she pursued medical studies at Christian Medical College, Ludhiana in Punjab and went on to acquire a Diploma in Child Health. She trained and completed her Masters in Paediatrics and became a tutor in Paediatrics at Christian Medical College hospital Vellore, India, affiliated to Madras University.
Dr Mary then moved to Malaysia where she acquired experience at University Sains Malaysia, in Kelantan and at Butterworth Hospital. During this time she taught medical students and had case reports published in the Malaysian Journal of Paediatrics. Dr Mary received a Membership in the Royal College of Physicians, Glasgow and followed this up with extensive training at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Paediatric Cardiology. Dr Mary is also currently serving as Professor of Clinical Paediatrician at Allianz Medical School and University, Malaysia
As a practising paediatric cardiologist she is proficient in Echocardiography, and all procedures in Interventional Cardiology. Dr Mary has a special interest in Fetal Echocardiography. She is currently involved in the paediatric cardiac care program at Adventist Hospital.
As a Paediatrician, Dr Mary is competent in providing care for all childhood illnesses, allergies, immunisations and neonatal intensive care.
Dr Mary enjoys reading and tries her hand at gardening in her spare time. Dr Mary and her husband Dr Patrick Tan have two sons.
