Dr Loo, our Consultant in Internal Medicine had his primary and secondary education in Penang. Following this he obtained his basic degree in Medicine from University Malaya in 1986. After a few years experience and training as a Medical Officer he obtained his Membership with the Royal College of Physicians, United Kingdom.
As an Internal Medicine Specialist he has acquired vast experience while serving in three different hospitals. While on the staff at Penang General Hospital he has had experience in teaching and training Housemen as well as student nurses, in arranging and presenting CME programs and participating in teaching seminars and public talks.
Currently he holds the position of Medical Advisor to the Persatuan Diabetis Malaysia (Penang Branch), the Stroke Club of Penang. He continues to give public talks and is very concerned with educating the general public on aspects of prevention and care of various diseases.
Dr Loo has a special interest in the prevention and treatment of disease such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, respiratory diseases, G.I. disorders and other general medical conditions. His special brand of care has earned him accolades from patients in and around Penang. A prolific reader he contributes medical articles on request to newspapers.
Dr Loo is fluent in English, Malay, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien and Teochew. Outside his professional life Dr Loo is an avid reader, likes to practice Tai Chi and play Chinese Chess. He is happily married and has two sons.
